Tread carefully. Don’t put your foot in it. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Inspired by the story of Cinderella, these footprints are taken from moulds of old shoes and boots, showing the traces left behind after many steps. The body is no longer present but an impression is still left behind. The phrases are comments that the artist has heard, or overheard, that are often throwaway but can leave an impression on the soul of the person they have been directed towards. Long after the words have been said, they can linger in the mind and influence how we perceive ourselves, reflected through the eyes of others.

These soles are a reminder that what we say and how we say it can leave a lasting but invisible impression on those we talk to and a nudge to be a little kinder.
